It may be winter now… but summer is coming soon. Blanes marks the official start of the Costa Brava, Spain’s ‘Wild Coast.’  Pictured here is S’Abanell, at 3.1 kilometers the longest beach along the Costa Brava. The beach is often damaged — or carried away altogether — during winter storms, but always put back in place in time for the tourist season.
